Tiger Woods to participate at Bridgestone Invitational

Iconic golfer Tiger Woods said he will be playing the WGC Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio that starts tomorrow as he is now more confident about his physical status, although it is not clear why Woods decided to return so quickly after recently announcing that he would not come back until completely healed. Tiger's decision of returning to professional form comes less than a month from his separation from caddie Steve Williams, who is also going to be present at the tournament. And although Woods is still one of the big names in the game, he is certainly not the favorite one to come up with the victory as those honors currently belong to Rory McIIroy, and so a nice head-to-head is to be expected between the veteran and the young star.


NBA takes legal action concerning CBA

David Stern and the league doesn't think the NBAPA is acting with good faith, and that is why they took the first legal step and filed claims against the players' association on Tuesday, with Stern arguing that "They're not serious about making a deal with the NBA. They're so busy talking about their decertification strategy, following the lead of their attorney Jeffrey Kessler who did it for the NFL players."  And to this, Executive Director Billy Hunter responded that "The litigation tactics of the NBA today are just another example of their bad faith bargaining and we will seek the complete dismissal of the actions as they are totally without merit. He said.


Bulger retires after eleven seasons

Marc Bulger, a 11-year quarterback at the NFL who made it to the pro bowl in two occasions, has decided to call it quits for good, as the 34 year old player decided not to go after any offers during the offseason. Bulger played for the Rams from 2000 to 2009, and on 2010 he got signed as a backup for Joe Flacco at the Ravens, a position that will be now in the hands of Hunter Cantwell and Tyrod Taylor.


Big East hoping for huge TV deal

Although the Big East is still considered as one of the worst conferences in NCAA (losing three straight Bowl Championship Series and lacking overall star power both in the field and the sidelines just to mention some of their weaknesses), it seems like a nice TV deal is coming their way, as the addition of TCU will allow them to count with 30% of the country's TV households,  and it also allows them to increase the conference's football quality and market, as currently the Big East is more productive when it comes to basketball.
