Gun Safety

Submitted by MrTravel

Gun Safety - The main rule of good gun safety is: A safe direction. That means the gun is pointed in a safe direction so if it does go off it would not cause any prpoperty damage or injury to people or pets.
The key is to control where the front of the barrel is pointed at all times.
Never put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to shoot. Only rest your finger on the trigger guard while holding the gun. Do not touch the trigger until you are ready to fire.
Keep the gun unloaded until you are ready to use it. If you pick up a gun, engage the safety device immediately.
If the gun has a magazine, remove it before opening the action barrel and looking into the chamber. It should be clear of ammunition.
