Harness Racing

Harness racing is one of the most exciting sports events to watch. In 2005, Sears became the first driver to earn $15 million in one year, topping the old record of $14.1 million set by John Campbell in 2001.

Perhaps a more impressive record is one that Sears again stole from John Campbell. In 2006, Sears broke the Meadowlands record that Campbell set in 1986 by winning at least one race in 48 consecutive programs. With records such as these to tout, it is no wonder that Brian Sears is one of the most celebrated harness jockeys in the history of racing. Colleague Mike Lachance had the following to say about Sears. "Confidence is the key,” Lachance said. “You start to win, and it builds up. Brian, he's awfully tough to beat in the stretch now, sharp, super sharp. It makes it difficult to get by them when they're going so well”.
