Learning the basics

Like other team sports, football needs to have two opposing teams in order to play the game. Scoring in this game is also like other team sports where a player should reach the goal in order to gain points for the team. The only difference is the method of scoring and how the game is played. Football is not just about your physical abilities, it is about using your mind a lot and combines it with the body\'s physical prowess. Football is a game which is quite similar with rugby. Opposing teams would tackle each other to prevent the other side from scoring or so that the other team can find an opening in order to run the ball towards the end zone. The offensive team in football is allowed to have four tackles as well as to be tackled by the other team. The offensive team must try their hardest to advance until they make their first down. The first down happens when the offensive team would reach ten yards of advancing in the game. IF this happens, the offensive team is given another chance to advance with another ten yards, if they can. If the offensive team can score a touchdown near the end zone, they are given another chance to score again whether by running the ball again or by punt kicking or kicking the ball. This situation is called the try for point situation.

In a football game, both teams must have a quarterback, a running back, or line backer if it is a defensive team, a receiver, some strong line men. To have a tight end is optional. A quarterback is the person in the middle just behind the linemen during a line of scrimmage. This person is considered to be the control tower of the whole team. He is the one responsible for making all the plays or select plays that could make them have an advantage over the opposing team, or use plays to win the whole game. The running back is the person whom the quarterback would pass the ball to after the line of scrimmage. The running back is responsible for running until he reaches the end zone. The line backer is usually the last line of defense during the game. Sometimes the quarterback can pass the ball to the receiver, or the quarterback himself will do the running. The receiver is the person that runs ahead of the whole team along with the running back. Their job is to retrieve the ball when the quarterback passes it to them. The linemen\'s job is to be a wall that that blocks the opposing team from tackling the quarterback called blitz. A tight end is someone who can be a jack of all trades. He can be a receiver, a line man, or even a quarterback or a running back. The tight end\'s job is to provide an opening for the team to score or receive the ball when he is open and try to score.
