New Quarterbacks at the Helm in the NFL for 2010

As the 2010 NFL season approaches, and fans everywhere get ready to watch NFL football online, on their televisions or at their favorite stadiums once again, a major storyline to think about is the number of teams coming into the year with radically different faces at the quarterback position. Some are bringing star power and some are bringing youth and inexperience, but every quarterback on this list shares in the power to alter the fortunes of their respective franchises for years to come.

Washington Redskins - Donovan McNabb
The Washington Redskins are coming off of a disappointing 4-12 2009 campaign, and are looking to improve an anemic offense that only mustered 16.6 points per game last season. In the offseason, the Redskins acquired Donovan McNabb, the star quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles, for a second round 2010 draft pack and a conditional 2011 draft pick. They are hoping McNabb can come to Washington and provide similar numbers to what he put up in Philadelphia, where he was known for success both with and without great receivers.

Philadelphia Eagles - Kevin Kolb
With Donovan McNabb dealt to the Washington Redskins, the Eagles have made the decision to place their fate in the hands of young Kevin Kolb, a second round draft pick from 2007. He was serviceable in the two games he started for the Eagles last year, going 1-1 with four touchdowns and three interceptions. Philadelphia will want to see Kolb mature alongside young receivers Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson to create a potentially deadly aerial attack for years to come.

Arizona Cardinals - Matt Leinart
The Arizona Cardinals' sudden rise to relevance in the NFL, after years of misfortune, was in no small part due to the veteran leadership of now retired quarterback Kurt Warner. Matt Leinart, a fifth year quarterback out of USC, prepares to take the reins, but he has an uphill battle ahead of him. He has struggled in previous appearances, throwing fourteen touchdowns and seventeen interceptions in his career with Arizona. He will also have to go without the services of one of Warner's favorite targets, Anquan Boldin, a perennial 1,000 yard receiver who was traded to the Baltimore Ravens in the offseason.

St. Louis Rams - Sam Bradford
The 2010 NFL draft's number one overall selection is slated to start this year for the lowly St. Louis Rams. The Rams have struggled mightily in the last few seasons, and have decided to move on from oft-injured quarterback Marc Bulger. Bradford will be faced with an ailing offensive line and a shaky wide receiver corps, though there are rumors that the controversial but talented Terrell Owens may sign with the Rams for this season. Time will tell whether Bradford will be able to have the same kind of rookie success that Matthew Stafford had with the Detroit Lions last year, or if he will struggle to produce like other top quarterback prospects of the last few years, namely JaMarcus Russell and Alex Smith.

With all of these intriguing stories, it can be frustrating to be limited to what is available on telecasts. In order to see the games they want, more and more people are deciding to watch NFL online, using websites such as http://pro-football-tv.com/. These websites allow fans to download software that allows them to watch NFL football online wherever they have an internet connection, live. You won't want to be caught unprepared for the slew of excitement headed your way when the season kicks off in September.
