Submitted by Andre Botelho

You have, may be heard several times that soccer coaching requires variety of different skills in a coach. You require patience, determination, humility, and desire to learn more, the ability to lead your team etc in order to successfully coach soccer. You will also need to learn the ways to progress your players from one training stage to the next.

A soccer coach has the same status as a leader. I would like to share with you some important concepts in soccer training. Good coaching does not mean that your players should act like professionals. It means that you should consider their age while training them. It then results in long term success both on and off the field and doing it correctly.

In this article you will find tips to help you coach your kids in the best and the most competent manner. What follows is a list of criteria that acts as a key to coaching soccer.

It is by no means a standard that if an individual has good knowledge of soccer that he will be a great coach. It just makes him or her good soccer technician. At the same time, it is imperative that you have adequate knowledge to be a great soccer coach. If you have no knowledge of the game, it is not possible that you will be able to teach the required soccer skills.

One vital characteristic of the coach is the skill to teach. If you have the knowledge but cannot transform that knowledge into action for your players, it's of no use.

A team winning all the time is no indication of the fact that it is being coached by someone brilliant. It may be that the team has certain exceptional players that are the reason for its continuous winning rather than coaching.

The creativity to inspire the players again and again is crucial if you are to be a good coach. When it is about soccer coaching, you require good soccer skills, physical power, and sharp mental effectiveness.

There will be times when you will feel feeble and not be able to do anything to win games. For instance, there are no skilled players in your team. But its not your responsibility. By way of patience, your knowledge of the game, and your ability to teach by way of essential soccer drills, the soccer team that you inherited is bound to get better.

Understand that soccer is a game and everybody has hopes of winning. But being patient will help the players to grow in their skills better.

If any of this is missing, your team will weaken in its ability to win games. It may so happen that your team does not have the required focus to do well.

Think again, good soccer coaching is more than just winning. A coach is known as someone who takes charge of the player or a team. If you become a member of our youth soccer coaching community then you will have access to numerous articles, videos and periodic new letters covering the entire wavelength of soccer coaching.
