In order to be successful at college lacrosse recruiting, you need to get seen by the coaches and scouts from the college you want to attend on an athletic scholarship. By attending a lacrosse recruiting showcase or tournament, you will have a chance to show off your skills as well as be seen by top college coaches.

You can start attending a lacrosse recruiting showcase or a lacrosse recruiting tournament beginning in your sophomore year in high school. Although you cannot be recruited that year, you can take part and benefit from all of the features that the lacrosse recruiting showcase has to offer.

A lacrosse recruiting tournament or showcase will often have some type of instruction that occurs during the college lacrosse recruiting event. Coaches will offer instructions to players for each of the positions on the team. This is helpful for sophomore and junior players, because you can improve your skills by working on the coaching tips that are given, so when you attend a lacrosse recruiting tournament or showcase during your senior year, you will be fully prepared and playing at your best.

At the same time that you are receiving instruction from top college coaches, those coaches are assessing you by college lacrosse recruiting standards. Coaches and scouts will be on the sidelines watching how you respond to the coaching. They will take note of how quickly you pick up on new ideas and skills, and they will notice how well you can take constructive criticism and if you are teachable. Even though you might not currently be a senior, you can still make a great initial impression on college lacrosse recruiting coaches, which will help them to remember you in upcoming years.

Coaches will also be watching the full games that are played during a lacrosse recruiting tournament or lacrosse recruiting showcase. These games are an excellent time to show how you play your position, and offer another way for college coaches to see you in action.

Because a lacrosse recruiting showcase will be held at a college or university campus, attending one of these events gives you an opportunity to check out the campus and even classes. This may help you to narrow down your list of favorite schools, so you can focus your attention on the ones most likely to work for you.

Although attending a lacrosse recruiting tournament or showcase is an excellent way for coaches to see you play, there are other ways to been seen as well. By setting up a player profile page on a recruiting website, coaches can go online to see you as well. All of these methods work to your benefit, so take advantage of as many as you can to reach your goal of a sports scholarship.
