Apple iPhone Name Causing A Pre Release Buzz

Submitted by cmeinck01

Those who have seen the new iPhone have been raving about the new iPhone that is set to be released in June of 2007. When you get an iPhone it is the same as getting a video iPod, mobile phone with text messaging, as well as Internet communications with desktop capabilities. The designers at Apple thought of everything when they designed the iPhone, except the fact that the name was taken already.

That's right, there was a dispute over who owns the iPhone trademark between Apple and Cisco. Cisco is suing Apple will a claim that they own the trademark to the iPhone name. Back in 2000 Cisco claims that they registered the name iPhone with the US Patent and Trademark office for their line of Internet capable phones. This two parties finally settled in time for Apple to use the name for their new phone.

Not only the name of the iPhone has people talking, but the new features and combination of services seem to make everyone happy and reviews positive. The two new features that are truly unique on the iPhone is the fact that it operates on the MAC OS X operating system. With this type of operating system you are able to seamlessly sync data from a MAC or PC.

Another amazing new feature on the iPhone is the touch screen. Apple decided to get rid of the key pad all together, leaving more space for the screen, which is 3.5-inches. Instead of a key pad the iPhone has a virtual key pad or key board which will appear depending on the function you are using. If you are making a telephone call then you will see a virtual key pad come up, or you can select from your contacts. If you are surfing online, writing and Email, sending a text, or typing out a document then you will see a virtual key board. This touch screen technology is designed to be more user-friendly than standard key pads and tiny key boards.

If you are into text messaging the people you know then you would love to take advantage of the iPhones SMS application. This is an application which has a predictive QWERTY soft keyboard which can correct and prevent mistakes while typing. This is more efficient than most smartphone keyboards.

The phone itself only weighs 4.8 ounces and is 11.6 mm thick, super small and can fit anywhere. The 2-megapixel digital camera can come in handy when you are in an emergency situation such as a crime scene or car crash. Other people use their digital camera to document important things such as where they parked in the airport parking garage, so they won't be lost after a two week vacation.

You will be able to purchase an iPhone after its 2007 summer release exclusively through AT&T Wireless. You will have to sign a two year service contract with the purchase as well. It is still unconfirmed on whether a data plan will be required. There will be two different models that are released, the 4GB and 8GB. The 4GB version will run you $499, while the 8GB costs only $100 more at $599.
