HDPE Fusion: distributing liquid and gas with safety

HDPE fusion welding is to fuse two HDPE (high density polyethylene) pipes at an optimum temperature with the required force. The liquified molecules of each end of the hdpe pipes, after cooling down, gets fused with each other becoming one continuous structure. The fused joint of the pipe retains its previous strength, if not more. These fused pipes enable to have leakage free joints, unlike any other pipe. The fusing of high density polyethylene pipes are carried out with precision, as the temperature for melting the ends and the force used for fusing them has to be accurate.
Reasons for High Density Polyethylene pipes being good HDPE liners

Resistance to chemicals: Often joints lead to seepage of chemicals and other toxic materials into the liquid that are flowing inside the pipes. However, due to the unique and strong hdpe fusion of the pipes there is no scope of any kind of chemicals seeping in the pipes through the joints and thus contamination of liquid or gases can be eliminated in toto. This is considered as one of the most attractive features of polyethylene pipes.

Corrosion free: The corrosion free nature of the high density polyethylene pipe lets it carry liquid chemicals and gaseous mixtures. Unlike iron or concrete pipes which are prone to accumulate rust hinders free flow of liquids, polyethylene high-density pipes retain the smooth nature. It enables to perform well with less friction even when there is immense force of the flow of liquids.

Low permeability: HDPE high density factor makes the pipes less permeable. Pipes with hdpe fusion and liners will not allow any kind of gases to escape pipes neither other elements can permeate into the pipes. The close knit molecules of polyethylene makes it almost impregnable in nature.

Ultraviolet resistant: HDPE is a petroleum based product and one of its unique qualities is that it is ultraviolet resistant. The black carbon used for the pipes make it more ultraviolet resistant. There is no fear of volatilization as there is no presence of plasticizers.

Earthquake resistant: In spite of undergoing fusion the malleable nature of the pipe makes t easy to install, at both irregular terrains as well as in earthquake prone regions. Thus, it minimizes the risk factor of pipe explosions. This feature suits those localities which experience maximum number of earthquakes every year.

Light and Flexible: Unlike other pipes, where the joining portions are to be taken care of at the time of fitting, often prone to damage and breaking, the fused portions of hdpe pipes are at no such risks of breaking. It is one of the lightest and easily installed pipes. The flexibility of the pipes allow it to be fitted anywhere and for any purpose.

Durability: The durability of the HDPE pipes makes them cost effective and very low cost maintenance. Most pipes, which are joined, need to be repaired because of leakages; however, fused pipe users do not face such hassles. Due to the strength of these materials, these pipes are used for boring and mining, without the fear of cracking along the fused region.
