Liner Pipe: Reducing chances of contamination

HDPE liner pipe are not only low maintenance in nature, but also have some other unique features. This makes it so popular. The durable and the malleable feature makes it easy to be installed anywhere. The plastic nature makes it impermeable, hence reducing the chances of contamination. Be it from inside or outside, no toxic elements from the outer surface can seep inside the polyethylene pipeline liner. Neither can the liquids or gases that are flowing inside the pipe can seep out and contaminate the soil or any other property through which the pipeline goes. Thus, it enables the liquids or gases to retain its original properties. Polyethylene is smooth in nature, and the corrosion resistant nature prevents formation of any kind of fissures or even deposition of minerals or rust or sediments in the pipe surfaces. It therefore ensures smooth flow of the liquid or gas, which is being carried inside, without any kind of turbulence.
Why liner pipe with High Density Polyethylene?
Apart from all the above reasons, it is advisable to liner the existing pipes, which are not even damaged, with HDPE liners. With the advent of technology one does not have to excavate the existing pipeline to do the liner. Neither the host pipe is to be removed to fit in the High Density Polyethylene pipe liner. Polyethylene High-Density pipe liners are fitted within the existing pipes. However, while selecting a supplier of polyethylene HDPE pipe liner, do check few things.
Fully equipped: Old or damaged pipes are lined with High Density Polyethylene which is done through the technology known as plastic extrusion. In this technology the plastic is melt and then filtered. It is then passed through a dice that takes the shape of a pipe. But the molten plastic which passes inside the existing fissures would increase the heat, thereby, shutting down the heater automatically. Hence the supplier should have the cooling fan so that the optimum temperature for extrusion as well as cooling can be maintained. This is done so that the Polyethylene High-Density liner pipe can be made to fit inside the existing pipes.
Fusion: HDPE pipes cannot be joined in any other way than fusion. This makes the joints as hard as the rest of the pipe. Hence, polyethylene liner pipes are leak proof. To have a good result, the fusion is generally carried out near the installation venue. The supplier builds a tent, which prevents the fusion pipe from the weather, mainly excessive heat, rain or even wind. These protected areas are constructed so that the fusion of HDPE pipes goes on in an unhindered manner. However, the completion of fusion is not the end of the procedure; the High Density Polyethylene pipes that are to be used as liner are made a bit wider in diameter than the host pipes. As compressing it into a smaller diameter than the existing pipeline gives it agility and flexibility which enables it to withstand massive temperature differences.
Custom made pipes: HDPE liner repair is primarily custom made. Depending on the specific requirements of the customer, the pipeline liner is made. Though the polyethylene pipes come in a range of diameter, from ½ inch to 63 inch, yet it is worthwhile to check with the supplier if they provide custom made liner. Also check if they undertake regular inspection after the liner repair and with good design.
Therefore, check whether these services are provided at the time of repairing the existing pipeline with HDPE liner pipe.

Taneisha Jones works with HDPE liner. She advices to use HDPE liner pipe to do liner repair. Before doing it check whether the suppliers meet these basic criteria.
