Questions to Consider With Mobile PhonesSubmitted by Phillip Greene Thu, 23 Jul 2009
Mobile phones. It's a bit like saying houses or cars. Houses vary considerably, and so do cars. And so do mobile phones.
For anyone choosing a mobile phone, the choices are seemingly never-ending. So too are the tariffs. So where to start? How about the price? It is possible to pay up to three hundred pounds for a mobile phone. It is also possible to pay less than ten pounds. These prices are for pay-as-you-go payment phones. With a contract the phones can be much less. They may even be free. Having decided what you are willing to spend, it is time to start looking at what you want from a phone. And, quite simply the question is, are you looking for a phone or a mobile technology box that you can use to make phone calls? For those above a certain age, the former is more likely to be the best choice. That means you can pick up a basic phone for very little cost. If you are young, the latter will be more suitable. That way you can listen to pop music, take photos and videos of your friends and send them around the world via the phone's internet connection - you can do all this with the new Samsung Pixon 12 mobile phone. But what about technical details? In general, the more expensive the phone the higher its technical specifications. If you want to take photographs do you really need an eight megapixel resolution? Are you likely to travel to America in the near future? How likely is it that you need to take videos on the hoof? Or browse the internet on the bus? Answering these questions will help you choose your phone. If your technical needs lead you towards a phone in your price bracket it is likely you need to look no further. What of the tariff? You can go for a contract which may offer free or cheaper phones and free phone upgrades. But that means you have to take care that your phone isn't lost or doesn't get stolen since you could be legally bound to pay for phone calls and net browsing that you had no part in. If you are an occasional phone user it is quite likely that pay-as-you-go could work out to be the cheapest option.
