Features

Samsung U700 is a super slim sliding phone with a glossy finish. It’s a definitely an eye catcher. It comes in 3 beautiful color combinations blue/violet, silver/white, and gold/chocolate. It looks sleek made of high quality construction.

The front is covered with a glossy mirror from the top of the phone to the navigational keypad. Navigation can be accomplished by either 4 directional buttons or the rotating key in it middle. It can also be pressed and used as a confirmation button.

There are 4 touch screen keys. There’s one for a video call, application switch and two context keys. The application keys enable the user to switch between calls, messages and internet.

It has 40 MB embedded memory with microSD (transflash). It’s equipped with GPRS, EDGE, 3G, bluetooth with A2DP, and USB. Extra features include an organizer, NetFront 3.4 (for internet browsing), 3.15 megapixels (with a secondary camera for video calls), and Mpeg 4 player. The music player can play different formats including WMA files. You can connect with your PC through the USB cable and it will synchronize with your Windows Media player. The camera has flash and autofocus with a maximum resolution of 2048x 1536 pixels.

The phone also synchronizes well with your PC. HSDPA will guarantee fast transfers of data along the way.

Cons

It has no FM radio and call filtering. The theme is just black and non-configurable. It records video in archaic resolution (176 x 144 pixels). The glossy surface also makes it difficult to use in daylight or cloudy conditions but the display is vibrant. Fingerprints are also a problem which is common among glossy phones.

Overall it is wonderful phone with fast data transfers, high quality camera, and intuitive navigational system. It’s a phone that proves appeal and functionality can go hand in hand.
