Booking Flights DIY Style V Package Holidays

Submitted by uswitcharticles

If you are planning on taking a flight abroad this summer but haven't yet booked, I'd like to offer you some tips to ensure you pay the best price for this flight and future flights. Of course the first thing to decide is if you are going on holiday which destination for you or your family. You may go for a package holiday or decide to do it yourself and go self catering.

However if you decide to fly here is how to get the best value flights. If you decide to go for a package holiday ensure you shop around, don't just book through your travel agent. Travel agents and travel operators are two separate entities so many travel agents can be selling the same holiday deal and it is unlikely they will all charge the same price. By doing your research you could save yourself a packet, giving you more holiday spending money.

Going to a traditional holiday destination such as Florida is likely to be cheapest for one week, ten days or two weeks. One point to make is if you are going to choose a very family orientated destination such as Florida to fly to if possible avoid school holidays so hold off until the end of August or September now unless you can get a deal for early June. If you do decide to book a package holiday it usually will be ATOL protected meaning if the holiday company fails you will be given a refund or can complete your trip if you are already on your holiday. If you book your flights separately you won't get your money back unless your flights cost you more than £100 and you have paid by credit card.

To get the cheapest flightsthis summer you will have to be willing to haggle between travel agents. If you find a flight deal you want and willing to negotiate you could get the travel agent to reduce the cost by possibly hundreds of pounds. Especially at this time of year and with the economy in its current state it gives consumers the best bargaining power to get the cheapest of flights and holidays.
