You do not have to be flying to a Post- Oscar party or even flying to close a multi million dollar contract for your business, to kick back and enjoy the luxuries that the first class cabin has to offer. Long gone are the days where the rich and the famous were the only ones allowed the extra large chairs and the fluffier pillows. There's a little bit of anyone that wants to know what goes on in the sacred cabin that is first class. There is no reason at all why we shouldn't be able to experience the first class life even if only once in our lives.
Anybody, yes that's right anybody, can get a cheap first class ticket on the airline of their choice. All it takes a little time and research. Below you will find the secrets to snagging that cheap first class ticket, once or as many times as you'd like.
" Take advantage of overbooked flights. If possible intentionally make reservations for flights that are overbooked and then arrive early to the airport. Whenever a flight is overbooked, the airlines may offer a cheap first class ticket on the next plane out for anyone willing to wait.
" Always ask for the Y-Up tickets. Airlines will not outright offer the Y-Up for passengers and many agents in booking are not trained to find those tickets. But by asking directly at the time of check in for a Y-Up, someone at the airline will be able to assist you and possibly provide you with the Y-Up ticket which is a very cheap first class ticket.
" Wait to fly after normal business hours. First Class is in high demand during business hours and due to supply and demand, the airlines are able to get a lot of money out of a first class ticket. But during midweek when business people are not traveling as much, the tickets tend to be lower. Try flying late flights as well, since most business men and women fly out during the day.
" Be flexible with your plans. If you do the math and really do your research you may discover cases where one way tickets are cheaper than round trip tickets. Flying one way may allow you to find cheap first class tickets, especially when flying in the middle of the week. It's okay to fly home with another airline if the price for the ticket is cheaper.
" Book through a travel agent when possible. There's no denying that some travel agents do charge a small fee for their work. But, the power of the travel agent is priceless. The travel agent has access to tickets and deals that are sometimes only accessible through an agent. The travel agent can also make comments on the reservation that can help you get a cheap first class ticket.
While there's nothing wrong with flying in coach, there's also nothing wrong with wanting to get the experience of a first class flight, even if the experience is just one time. There are several more secrets to getting a cheap first class ticket, but the ones mentioned above are a perfect start.
