Business, Culture and Fine Dining from Sydney Serviced Apartments-00-7638Submitted by 4Ps--Marketing Fri, 15 Oct 2010
Sydney is now a major financial centre for Asia Pacific and produces over a quarter of Australia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). For those in the city on business, there is a host of events and exhibitions in and around the city for entertainment in the evenings and at weekends. It is a good idea to consider serviced apartments in Sydney for accommodation during your stay in Australia, as there are many properties that allow you to be close to the action, whether in the Central Business District (CBD) or in one of the many famed beach suburbs.
The rapid expansion of Sydney's population during the 19th and 20th century meant that many impressive structures were built during this period to signify the importance of the biggest city in Australia. Some Sydney serviced apartments have the privilege of overlooking Sydney harbour where you can see the famous opera house and Harbour Bridge. As summer approaches there are many events that allow you to make the most of the Sydney weather, such as the Rolex Sydney-Hobart Yacht race and the weekly Bondi market. Then there is the world famous fireworks display over Sydney Harbour Bridge at New Year; you'll need to get there early to get a good spot as an estimated 1.5 million people turned out to watch them last year. If staying in a Sydney serviced apartment in the centre of the city, why not visit one of the many museums in the area? The Art Gallery of New South Wales is particularly impressive, as it has a permanent collection that includes works by Picasso, Cezanne and Degas. The museum also houses some of the oldest Aboriginal art in Australia. The theatre will not disappoint either: Sydney Theatre Company has many productions hot off Broadway and the West End. During the 2011 season Cate Blanchett will be treading the boards in 'Big and Small' and Miranda Otto will star in 'The White Guard'. If it is shopping you're after, Sydney has a plethora of shops suited to all tastes. For the more bohemian shopper, a visit to Newtown is a must. Darlinghurst is full of fashionable boutique shops and Castleraugh Street is the place to visit for designer clothes. Finally, for those who love their food, Sydney offers some world-class cuisine. Sydney serviced apartments always come with cooking facilities but for times when you don't feel like cooking, there are some tempting options available. Marque Restaurant in Surry Hills was named as a 'must-visit' by the Good Food Guide 2010 and Quay, Fishface and Manly Pavillion Restaurant are all further examples of Sydney's excellent fine-dining offerings.
Europe's leading independent serviced apartments provider, SilverDoor Ltd represents over 40,000 properties in over 200 international location. Their Australian portfolio includes serviced apartments Sydney and other locations such as Melbourne and Perth.
