Deer Valley Winter Snow is Very VersatileSubmitted by echo_promotions Wed, 20 Feb 2008
When planning a vacation to Deer Valley, Utah for the winter, what probably comes to mind is the awesome skiing that awaits you there. While this cannot be overlooked, there are plenty of other fun activities that Deer Valleys winter snow provides. Whether you want to commune with nature or have some mechanized fun; there is something waiting there for you.
For those who want to take in the scenery with ease and speed, going on a snowmobile tour is the way to go. Deer Valley orchestrates the Summit Meadows snowmobile tours. Tours are held on the Garff Ranch located only 5 miles from nearby Park Citys historic Main Street. This 7,000-acre ranch can be toured with a guide as individuals or groups. This is a way to enjoy awe-inspiring scenery while experiencing the adrenaline of riding a fast-moving sled machine. Those who want to enjoy the area's primative wilderness under their own power have several possibilities. Touring the area by way of cross-country ski or snowshoe is a physical, yet relaxing possibility that is sure to help you get into harmony with nature. Especially if you are new to backcountry adventure, it is a wise thing to go with a guide, although, the flight back to civilization in a Search and Rescue helicopter is certainly a memorable experience. Lots of outfitters in and around Park City offer guide services. Park City's Norwegian Outdoor Exploration Center received high scores from Family Fun magazine for their snowshoeing tours. Their tours are available to people of all ages and abilities; including willing children as young as five. This is a great way to slow down and enjoy the natural beauty of this place. Another great place to snowshoe is the Swaner Nature Preserve. Outfits such as All Seasons Adventures also offer, of all things, dog sledding. There are other family adventures available in wintertime as well. Park City has its own ice skating rink snuggled away in the hills called the Park City Ice Arena. Another option is lift-served tubing at Gorgoza Park located just 10 minutes away. This area's winter beauty has something to offer everyone regardless of age, physical strength, or pocketbook size. So decide what method of exploration is right for you, bundle up, and head outside! NOTE: Use of this article requires links to be intact. About the Author
