A person who wants to travel to Australia needs to acquire an Australian visa. Though some people think that applying for immigration to Australia is an arduous process; however, this is now made easy with the Australian immigration services offered online.

Migration to Australia has never been easier. Applying for an Australian visa is much more convenient now with these Australian immigration services available online.

It is now possible to apply for your Australian visa online. Gone were the days of people personally applying for an Australian visa. If you don't want the hassle and the confusion that goes with Australian immigration process, you can apply through one of the many visa sites that offer online immigration services and advices likeNationalvisas.com.au and let them handle the Australian visa application process for you. However, if you are up to the challenge of applying for yourself, all you just need is to verify if you are a passport holder from certain countries that can apply for visa electronically without visiting the visa office.

If you want to visit Australia as a tourist or for business for less than three months, you can apply for an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA).

An ETA is counterpart to a visa, except there is no stamp or label is placed in your passport and a visit to an Australian diplomatic office to submit an application is not needed. ETA applications can be submitted through travel agents or airlines.

To apply, you have to check first if you are eligible for an ETA. Countries that are eligible for an ETA are listed on the ETA website. Once you're sure that your country is qualified, you can apply for an ETA online by paying AUS$20 paid through a credit card only. Just be sure that you have your passport with you when you apply. It just takes at least 30 seconds for your ETA to be approved. An ETA is valid for multiple visits within 12 months from date of issue.

There are many types of ETA that you can apply for online. If your purpose is just for sightseeing or to visit friends or relatives, you can apply for the Visitor/Tourist ETA. It is applicable for 12 months and you are allowed to stay for up to 3 months only on each visit, and it can be used for single or multiple entry travel. However, employment is forbidden. If your purpose is business, you can apply for the Short Validity Business ETA. It is valid for up to 12 months and you are allowed to stay for up to 3 months on each visit. It can also be used for single or multiple entry travel and employment is still prohibited.

If you're country is not eligible for an ETA and you are a passport holder from the European Union and a number of other European countries, you can apply for eVisitor visa online. The eVisitor is free and lets visitors travel to Australia for short term business or tourism purposes for up to three months.

However, if you are not qualified to apply for eVisa, just engage the assistance of the many online sites that offer Australian immigration services and advices, so you can apply for your Australian visa easily.
