There are a number of fantastic events taking place in and around Bath this autumn which should defiantly be noted in your diaries whatever your tastes and interests.
SS Great Britain This is your chance to see what life was like aboard Brunel's famous ss Great Britain. See, hear, touch and smell the exhibits on display in the Dockyard Museum in Bristol. October 4th Grandparent's day treats Get FREE tea for two when you visit the Dockyard Café with your grandchildren. October 24th to November 1st Horrid torrid tales trails Children can experience and discover the passenger's nasty experience aboard. Mr Brunel himself will make an appearance (except October 28th). October 31st & Novermber 1st Rat Catchers Halloween Visit England's most haunted ship at Halloween if you dare! Be prepared for gruesome facts, ghostly goings on and all manner of blood curdling events. The Jane Austen festival September 18th to 27th A number of events will be taking place throughout Bath to celebrate the life and works of Jane Austen. Some of the attractions will include Europe's largest Regency costume Promenade through the grand Georgian terraces of Bath, small soirees, concerts, walking tours and plenty of dancing. Many people will be in 18th century costume so feel free to join in. Bath festival of Children's Literature September 18th to 27th Some of the biggest names in the world of children's books will be descending on Bath for 10 days for the fun festival celebrating children's books. Bath Film Festival October 29th to November 8th The Bath Film Festival is a fortnight long celebration of great cinema with many screenings and different events taking place right across the city. Bath Motzart Festival November 13th to 21st As the nights draw in music lovers will be drawn to the beautiful music played at the Bath Mptzart Festival. The annual event celebrates the life and works of one of the music greats as well as those who have been inspired by him. Castle Combe Action Days September 5th & 26th Get behind the wheel of your own car and drive it like they do on Top Gear! Action Days allow you to buy track time at the challenging Castle Comb Circuit and test your driving skills. Track sessions last 15 minuets but there is no limit to the number of sessions that can be purchased. The race paddock area is full of racing clubs, trade stands and an Autojumble to interest all car enthusiasts.
