Mount Xianhuashan China Travel Guide And Tips

Three kilometers north of the Pujiang County seat, the scenic spot is known as the place where, according to the local folklore, the youngest daughter of Emperor Huangdi became a goddess and flew into the heaven and that's why the mount is proverbially known as Mount Fairy. The 21.2-square-kilometer area has three major scenic sections known respectively as Xianhua Peak Forest, Limpid Celestial Lake and Fragrant Snow in the Mei Valley. The three scenic areas have as many as 58 scenic spots. Xianhua is a provincial-level scenic zone.

Peak Forest:
Mount Xianhua is unique for its forest of peaks. At over 600 meters above sea level, 21 peaks cluster in an area of one square kilometer, their height ranging from 50 meters to 100 meters. Each displays a different picturesque marvel. The peak forest is known as the first celestial peak forest under the heaven. The Girl Peak, the Celestial Platform Peak, the Jade Ruler Peak, the Jade Gui Peak, the Jade Bamboo Shoot Peak are the most majestic and beautiful rocky miracles in the forest.

Admission fee:
55 rmb for adults, 50% off for kids between 1.2 meters and 1.4 meters, free for kids shorter than 1.2 meters, free for aged>70.

8:00 - 17:00.

Traffic:
You can take the trains to Pujiang first. (trains from Hangzhou to Chongqing, Nanjing West to Wenzhou, Shanghai to Zhuozhou, Hangzhou to Jiangshan, Hangzhou to Wenzhou can reach Pujiang) Mount Xianhuashan is about 35 km from Pujiang and there are tour buses between them.

What to eat:
The most famous food here is the Jinhuahuotui. You can find all kinds of Jinhuahuotui dishes here: Jinhuashubing, Jinhuarouzong, Jinhuatangbao, Pananlamian, Pananjiaojiaotong, Jinsimizao, Jinsishaojiu, Babaoxiangdu, Basijintui, Bopianhuotui, etc.

Shopping:
Jinhua is a notable shopping place in China. You can find all kinds of good stuffs here like: Jinhuashubing, Huacha, Oufen, Jinhuabaizijiu, Shoushengjiu, Yiwunanzao, Dongyangmudiao, Pujiangmaiganhua, Caobian, Jianzhi, Yongkonghuie, Fangyanwanju, Lanximizao, Huazhu.

Tips:
(1). You will need to pay a 2 rmb deposit for the IC card at the entrance of Mount Xianhuashan. This deposit will be given back to you when you leave.
(2). The Shaonvfeng of Mount Xianhuashan is worth climbing but the traffic is not so good here.
(3). You'd better check the weather forcast before your travel because it will be a horrible experience if you come here in a rainy day.
(4). You can breathe fresh air here and enjoy the beautiful views of this famous mountain in China.
