My first travel to QueenslandSubmitted by analogik Fri, 26 Jun 2009
I recently took a trip to Australia to a state called Queensland. First of all, Australia is a wonderful country with many tropical accommodations that would make even the largest travel buff swoon. It was warm much of the year on most parts of the country and full of interesting people and exciting things to do.
When I was in Queensland, I had the fortune of staying at the Cairns Apartments, thanks to a brilliant recommendation from www.tropicalnorthqueensland.com.au. This was a tropical paradise filled with a wonderful tropical garden that can take the breath away from any and all nature enthusiasts, a swimming pool with a fantastic tropical tone to it, only to perpetuate the feeling of blissful isolation, guest lodges for the comfort and relaxation of guests, internet availability to stay in touch with the outside world while in paradise, along with many other extraordinary accommodations. While in Queensland, I also have the good fortune to visit a place known as Port Douglass, a breathtaking little town just outside of Queensland. This town occupies the area surrounding the majestic tropical Dainties River and has a quaint permanent population of fewer than one thousand people. This place is certainly a must see for anyone that loves nature. It is not only surrounded by the lovely river, but it is also bordered by the unworldly Four Mile Beach, a stretch of beach land that allows the isolated accommodation of hundreds of tourists. There are enough beaches here to allow many tourists to enjoy seemingly isolated relaxation, and with the jungle just a short ways behind the beach, there will always be an abundance of shade in the wonderful haven. Port Douglas is certainly a place of wonderment perpetuated only further by its tropical oasis setting which establishes a scene of quaint, simpler times where there was nothing more to life than to sit by the ocean and hear the waves patter against the shore and watch the majestic sun set on the edge of the ocean's horizon as the glow off the water makes the coastline appear gold. This gold coastline is not only lovely to look at, but it is also a fantastic metaphor for what the Four Mile beach represents for travelers and locals alike; a diamond in the rough, a jewel among stones, a golden land in the midst of harsh and hot tundra in the Outback; this beach is a wonderful interpretation of the relief possible in the wild land of Australia. Queensland Australia is certainly a place worth visiting. Not only are the wonderful accommodations and fantastic scenes to be viewed, but it is also one of earth's last Eden's, a place where nature and man still like in perfect harmony. About the Author
