There are many walking festivals that happen in Northumberland and some of them happen twice a year. In the Haltwhistle Walking Festival which has been in existence since 2003, visitors are lead on walking trips by residents who are familiar with all of the locations along the way. One of the featured places is Hadrian's Wall where you can turn and view Northumberland Park among other places. You will be treated to a panoramic vista that will stay with you long after you come down to solid ground. You will also get to visit the market town of Haltwhistle and even South Tyne Valley. There are different sized walks for different walking abilities. The Morpeth Riverside Walking Festival offers thirty different walks to choose from of different difficulties and distances. There are story walks for the families as well as town trails. Depending on the walk you choose you may be able to view Bolam Lake, Simonside Hills and Rothbury along with parts of Hadrian's Wall.

As with most street fairs there will be all sorts of different tents of a multitude of different vendors. There will be so much to see and do that you won't have a chance to get bored.

The Falston Border Shepherd's Show is one of the last shepherd shows of the season.
