Sheffield’s various array of attractions offer an interesting mix of galleries, theatres and museums. The options available are impressive where you can view rare, precious artifacts to the latest modern art. The must see’s for any culture vulture are as follows:

• The Weston Park Museum – Having recently received a £17million refurbishment the Weston Park Museum can’t help but increase Sheffield’s popularity even further. Adults and children can explore the history of the world from millions of years ago to the present day. The museums collection of beautiful and unusual gems are brought to life through its incredible histories and fascinating facts.
• Graves Gallery - Another place with a recent makeover, the Graves Gallery can now give the works of classic artists like Cezanne and Turner the home they deserve. As well as showing the latest contemporary art the gallery displays talented local artists as well as loaned pieces from the National Portrait Gallery and the Tate.
• Millennium Galleries – Based in the centre of Sheffield the Millennium Galleries is a brilliant venue for visual art, craft and design. There are four different galleries within the one building including the Special Exhibition Gallery, Craft and Design Gallery, Metalwork Gallery and the Rushkin Gallery. Amongst all of this you will find something for everyone and you’ll be left inspired after seeing the treasures inside, old or new.
• Peace Gardens – Based within walking distance of the Millennium Galleries the Peace Gardens offer spectacular fountains and beautiful lawns making this a popular place for people to relax from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. A particular favourite in the summer months the gardens are surrounded by café’s and bars.

Whatever your particular interests may be there is plenty to see and do in Sheffield. Known throughout the world Hardwick Hall and Chatsworth are based on the outskirts of the city centre. Sheffield’s industrial past can also be sampled at Kelham Island Museum, Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet Museum and Shepherd Wheel.
