For one of the most famous cultural institutions in the world visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Formed in 1870, the museum's collection now contains more than two million works of art from all around the world, from all times in human history. Spanning the history of world art, the museum houses hundreds of world-famous masterpieces.
