The Pacific Ocean Coast of Costa Rica is absolutely beautiful. The northern region is also much more developed than the Caribbean Sea or Atlantic Ocean coastline. The Pacific coast, which is continuously speckled with classic Costa Rica beach properties, is a 630-mile coastline that features many bays, coves and inlets that give the coastline its distinctive features.

Costa Rica’s Pacific coast is home to the famous Jaco Beach and many others like it. Most tourists and locales enjoy the Pacific coast because there are so many things to do in the area. For instance, visitors to the south Pacific coast can enjoy hiking in the Corvocado National Park or horseback riding at Rincon de Oso. And those staying on the mid-Pacific coast of Costa Rica will be minutes away from the adventure ATV tours at Quepos–Manual Antonio and the historical areas of Puntarenas. Meanwhile, those who choose the northern coast will be able to soak in the sun in Guanacaste, which is home to some of the most exquisite Costa Rica beach property there is. Hermosa, Tamarindo, Nosara & Flamingo beaches are all prime locations. All of these: the varied coastline, the beaches, the amenities and the nearby national parks are part of what gives the Costa Rica Pacific coast region its charm.

Beyond being charming, the Pacific coast is a bona fide Costa Rica real estate hotspot. The region is where a majority of the Costa Rica beach properties are currently located and as such, has quickly grown as one of the prime tourist areas. But where there are tourists, there are opportunities and real estate investors are definitely taking advantage of those before them. In efforts to grow the Costa Rican economy further, the Costa Rican government is permitting acres upon acres of Costa Rica land to be sold. Of course, only certain acreages are can be purchased, because the government pays special attention to assure the natural wildlife and plant life is preserved.

Anyone thinking of visiting the Pacific coast—for business or personal reasons—should keep in mind that the rainy season in that region of Costa Rica typically occurs from May through November so it’s best to visit December through April. During the rainy season, afternoon showers are prevalent in the afternoon but you can still get about 5 hours of sunshine through it all. For those interested in investing in Costa Rica beach properties or Costa Rica land available for sale, it’s recommended that visits to both coasts as well as inland hotspots like the Monteverde and San Jose regions. After all, the country is only the size of West Virginia.
