The capital of England, London is one of the most visited destinations in the world. 27 million tourists stay in London each year - surely they all can’t be wrong?

Picturesque, beautiful and peaceful describe a city that also never sleeps, has a thriving, world famous night life and has activities, venues and eateries for each and every individual.

Split into 33 individual boroughs and districts, the City of London, whilst the smallest, is the district that features the most tourist destinations and one of the worlds three largest financial centres.

With five major airports, several railway stations and direct links to the UK’s motorway system, getting to London is easy, often cheap and accessible to everyone. Once in London, getting around is both exciting and interesting whilst being efficient and well-organised. The favoured method of transport when in London is the London Underground – the oldest, longest and most expansive underground tube system in the world. Followed closely by a bus service and London taxi’s, getting from A to B and every where in between is simple.

Staying in London can be as cost-effective or extravagant as needed. Budget hotels and self catering apartments are available on every corner – even in the centre of London, whilst Hotels in London are the most popular choice of accommodation amongst tourists.

Without a doubt, unless your stay in London is for several weeks, a return trip is a must. There is so much to see and do, it’s impossible to fit it all in a short break.

For those who love shopping, Oxford Street should be first on your list. A strip of shops that last for nearly one mile, it’s the busiest shopping area in London and boasts a mix of high street names and designer names with various department stores. If your shopping budget is a bit more flexible, the adjoining Bond Street is packed with designer fashion and accessory stores and is home to several cat walk designers such as Vivienne Westwood and Jimmy Choo,

Home to more museums and art galleries one could ever wish for in such a concentrated area, the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum are just two of the many that are recommended for all tourists.

With the EMI and Decca Records having their Head Quarters in London, it’s expected that London offers an array of music venues – and it doesn’t disappoint. From massive arenas such as Earls Court and Wembley Arena, to more intimate venues such as the London Hammersmith Apollo and Brixton Academy, there is every genre of music on offer.

London is visited by tourists from all around the world and this is reflected in the variety of restaurants on offer. From Bangladeshi to Chinese and Caribbean to Greek, the food is second to none and you’re bound to find something on a menu you’ve never even heard of, never mind tried before.

Whether it’s your first visit to London, your second or your tenth, you’re guaranteed to find something you’ve never seen, somewhere you’ve never been or something you’ve never eaten before.
