What You Need to Know about Cruising the Nile

A Nile cruise is still the best way to visit the tombs and temples that are located along the river.

If you really wish to have a classical experience of Egypt a Nile cruise is really the only way to go. A Nile cruise is still the best way to visit the tombs and temples that are located along the river. Cruises are convenient in that you are able to unpack your things only once. When you are on a cruise you depart and return to the boat. If you do not book a cruise and choose to stay in hotels you have to pack and unpack at every destination.

With a Nile cruise you gain a prospective of rural Egypt and are able to see a wider variety of antiquities that are along the banks of the river. You will see mudbrick homes just like those Egyptians lived in thousands of years ago. You can select from a three, four or seven night cruise. Nile cruisers are floating hotels and include swimming pools, exercise rooms, nightclubs, hot tubs, restaurants, shops and small libraries.

Depending on how much you wish to spend you room may be small or even a suite. The better boats always have private baths, TVs and air conditioning. Meals are usually served buffet style and include both cold and hot dishes as well as a variety of local and international cuisine. Bottles water is recommended even with the modern filtration systems most boats now have.

The best time to cruise the Nile is in between October and mid April when the weather is cool and all the locks on the Nile are open. Prices can range from between $55 to $300 per night.

A Nile cruise is still the best way to visit the tombs and temples that are located along the river.
