Coonoor is the most popular hill station of the Nilgiri hills at Tamil Nadu. It's located on a small ridge of the main plateau at an altitude of 1.75 KM above from the sea level; it is at a distance of 18 KMs from Ooty. Ooty is also a popular hill station in nillgiris. However the climate of Coonoor is said to be more favorable than Ooty.

A huge number of tourists are attracted toward Coonoor every year. Coonoor attracts tourists for it's lush green Nilgiri hills, valleys, waterfalls and bird watching, as the place is full with beautiful and scarce birds including black woodpecker, barbets, Malabar trogon parakeets, mynas, Malabar gray hornbill, hawk eagle, and serpent eagle. The Sim's Park is most attractive part to visit in Coonoor. The Park has more plant species (magnolia, camellia, tree ferns, and tea gardens).

The board Blue Fairy-tale Hill Train is one of the most enjoyable things in Coonoor; it's a scenic ride. Coonoor provides you perfect conditions for trekking, full of thrill, excitement and adventure. Trekking can be a way of seeing and enjoying nature beautifully. You can take a beautiful moment to enjoy exhilarating and unique ride on the toy train that connects Coonoor with Ooty and Mettupalayam. The trip provides some Nilgiri hills breathtaking views in its entire natural honor.

Lamb's rock is situated about 8 km from Coonoor and provides you an awesome view of the Coimbatore plains.

Droog fort is located at a distance about 14 KM from Coonoor, once used by Tipu Sultan as an outpost, also known as Bakasura Malai, since it's linked to the local demon, Bakasura. But now only one wall of the fort has survived. However, the fort offers you an awesome view as it is situated about 6000 ft above the plains.
Dolphin's Nose is a huge rock resembling with a dolphin's nose is about 10 KM from Coonoor. On a clear day, you can glimpse Catherine Falls from a top the Dolphin nose. The famous law's fall is another popular picnic spot, located at a distance of 7 KM from Coonoor.

Coonoor is also famous for its luxury and budget hotels, guesthouses and scenic resorts. The beautiful gardens and side seeing of Coonoor hotels is famous. Some luxury & comfortable Resorts in Coonoor are available in budget of any tourist. Hotels in Coonoor are located in an amazing place of nillgiri hills.
