With over 28 hectors of land under its occupancy the zoo is flocked every year by approximately 1.4 million visitors. The place has over 315 different animal species and an extensive range of wildlife.

The animals there are kept in a way that they would be kept had they been in open. They are allowed to hunt for their pray and roam around freely. The animals that are kept here are also the most threatened of species. Statistics claim the Singapore zoo has about 16% of its animals that are threatened. Hence the place not only acts as a modern concept of a zoo but also as a way to prevent these animals from being erased from the face of earth. To support the zoo they also have animal shows and a program which enables free entry to the zoo for a period of a year on payment of a specific amount. Within the zoo there are trams, animals, boats and ponies. There are umpteen fun and learning activities which will keep you busy throughout the day. You will never like to leave the place so easily. Such would be the fascination with amazing flora and fauna of the zoo.
