If you have planed a vacation to Dubrovnik , in the South of Croatia, you should take a day off in Dubrovnik and make a trip to Montenegro.
The sea, the lakes, the canyons or the mountains of Montenegro enable everyone to decide how to enjoy one`s vacation the best way. On one day, the traveler can have a coffee on one of the numerous nice beaches of the Budva Riviera, eat lunch with the song of birds on the Skardar Lake and have dinner next to a fireplace on the slopes of the Durmitor Mountain. These are all characteristics which makes Montenegro to a attractive tourist destination that has a lot to offer.

Montenegro is one of the most interesting places in the world and one of the last undiscovered secrets. It is not only an excellent choice for a holiday, it has many other noteworthy characteristics: history, culture, tradition, good weather conditions, clean air, amazing nature, blue sea and more. This is why it is also called the pearl of the Mediterranean. Montenegro is really unique in many ways and it will show you that exotic landscapes are not always distant and unapproachable. You will enjoy the trip: drive around the Kotor Bay with its numerous small settlements; make a stop in the Medieval Kotor to immerse in the typical Mediterranean lifestyle; proceed up towards the mountains to visit Cetinje (once it used to be the center town of the Montenegrin rulers); stroll around in Budva (the ancient town which is today a lively tourist resort and well known from some famous movies)

The beautiful, historic walled towns Stari Bar, Budva, Kotor and Herceg Novi are perfect for those who like exploring. If you decide to spend more than one day in Montenegro it will be very easy to find an accommodation because anywhere along the coast you can find private rooms in a laze-away seaside town. Enjoy a setting of dramatic mountains tufted with pine forests, dotted with lakes and surrounded by deep canyons. The highest region, the Durmitor National Park, is a favourite destination for winter skiing and summer hiking in a flawless mountainscape while below in Tara’s deep canyon, brave rafters challenge its tumbling rapids. This country offers so much although it is a small country – Montenegro is like a fairyland and much more!

And this unforgettable experience is only one hour car drive from impressive Dubrovnik with its historical beauty and beautiful Dubrovnik Hotels away. So combine two amazing places for an amazing experience, two wonderful places where the mountains descend almost directly into the sea creating a surreal atmosphere.

Everyone who loves places with natural wealth, native beauty, beautiful beaches, clear lakes, fast rivers, mild climate and gorgeous mountains should visit Montenegro once a lifetime. Don't forget to take your camera because in Montenegro every view is like a picture you always dreamed about. You won't even need to edit your photos; just click and you put the photo into your album in the category: the most beautiful holiday photos.

IMPORTANT: Passport is required if you are making a trip from Dubrovnik to Montenegro. Please note that the official currency of Montenegro is the EURO
