Top Sports You Can Do in MexicoSubmitted by Irina M Tue, 30 Dec 2008
Being in Mexico may mean changing your healthy habits. It’s not uncommon for tourists to be gaining a pound or even more of it when they go back home. After all, the Mexican dishes are simply sumptuous and that you can truly relax and just think of nothing else but yourself.
Fortunately, there are a lot of sports activities that you can do whenever you’re in Mexico. A lot of them don’t cost a lot, so you won’t have to think about spending more money for your health. What’s more, they are fun. Snorkeling and kayaking. Chileno and Santa Maria are one of the best places to snorkel or kayak. You will surely learn to love the calm waters, which are ideal for snorkeling. You can also take your kayak along Santa Maria Bay and into the Sea of Cortez. Because these activities are completely safe, you can bring along your family, especially your kids. Hiking. If you’re such a great lover of the mountains, you can take a pick among the many hiking and biking trails that will lead you to elevated portions of Mexico. One of the most traveled is a hike trail in La Laguna Mountains. If you’re in Jose del Cabo, it will take you around 1 hour before you can reach the peak. However, you would not surely mind as there are a lot of picturesque sceneries that you can find, and the view at the mountaintop is just so rewarding. There is also a natural pool and waterfalls where you can take a dip. Kite Boarding. Kite boarding is one of the most exciting but highly dangerous water sports today. Most of the beaches in Mexico offer this. If you don’t have the necessary equipment with you, you can always rent them. And since this is relatively new sport, a number of them are willing to offer free tutorials and courses. If they aren’t, you can expect the fees to be very small and the classes very short. Golf. There are a lot of greens all over Mexico, not to mention that there are scenic spots that will surely make this sport more engaging. Some of the Grupo Mayan hotels do have golf courses, which you can use for free as part of your sports package or at discounted prices because you’re their client. There is also a comprehensive staff who can watch you over when you’re playing the game. Tennis. If golf is not your thing, then perhaps tennis is. There are also a lot tennis courts all over Mexico, even in accommodation choices like Grupo Mayan. You can pay by the hour or not at all especially if you select a sports package that is currently offered by the hotel. You don’t need to put your health in jeopardy even when you’re out of your home and in Mexico. You can still keep yourself fit and very healthy. Of course, if you don’t want to spend on any of these activities, you can always take on one of the most effective exercise but completely free routines: walking. About the Author
