Americans care about their pets like family. There are a million households in America that own pets and many of them take their pets along for vacations. That’s how pet-friendly vacation rentals and Pet-friendly travel became common. They actually prefer to travel and go on a vacation with their pets. They want to take their pets to hotels, parks, restaurants etc.
The websites of the vacation rental properties allow you to filter the result with pets allowed option. This helps you to choose the right vacation rental. There are only a few hotels that allow pets. Your best bet is to find a vacation rental, such as a private vacation home. In that case you don’t have to sneak around the hotel and you are also not liable if your pet damages anything. You will notice that you can take your dogs to the places where you can’t normally take a cat. No wonder dogs are the number one companion for human beings. There are some places that will charge you a fee for your pet. It isn’t generally very much, and the money usually goes for cleaning and torn carpets. At other places, the cost for keeping the pet is built into the price of the room. Traveling with your best friend can be a memorable experience and the greatest pleasures of life. It is in your hands to keep your vacation a vacation and not into a nightmare. You have to keep some important things in mind before you plan your vacation and book your tickets. Here are some tips to make it easy on you and ensure a memorable vacation. •Before you leave, consult a vet and make sure your pet is fit to travel. •A week or two before, get your pet checked up at the vet. •Ensure that you have all the required documents that may be needed for you pet to be allowed in another country. •Ensure that the pet gets all the necessary vaccinations for rabies etc and the records are up-to-date. The records should not be more than 10 days old before the time of your travel. •Check and make sure that your vacation rental allows pets and also the airline that you will be flying. •Attach an ID tag to your pet’s collar that has the your phone number and the address of the vacation rental on it. •You should carry you pet’s favorite bowl, treats and blankets. This helps the pet be familiar in the new surroundings. You should also carry his favorite pet food, toys and other prescribed medications. You would obviously prefer staying at a place that has been designed keeping the pets in mind. Many of those places have perks specifically for the pets like the hot tubs and the spas. And that will surely make both you and your pet happy and make this vacation a memorable one!
