Stepping Out of Small Hotel: Things to Do in Bridgetown

Going to Barbados for the holidays is the dream of many people because it is truly one of the most beautiful places in the world. It boasts of a lot of well-renowned beaches with white sand so fine, and pristine and clear waters so blue that people think them too good to be real because they are unbelievably scenic and picturesque.
The center of most activities in Barbados is Bridgetown, the island capital. It is the prime location for duty-free shopping, as well as the port of call for cruise ships that sail across the Caribbean. One of the most historical places in the island, it offers a lot of attractions that include many popular establishments, museums, golf courses and so on and so forth. Visitors are guaranteed to enjoy their stay because they are sure to enjoy an action-packed, fun filled adventure going around the area, giving them the opportunity to take in and savor an authentic Bajan experience.

Scattered across Bridgetown are different kinds of accommodations such as resorts, small hotel Barbados, apartments and villas that range from the opulent and expensive down to the simple and affordable. In the past, people used to insist that staying in the most luxurious places in the island is the only way to go. However, due to the global recession, a lot of people are now considering the cheaper alternatives available to them, even for Barbados vacations.
Sometimes lodgings can be so nice and comfortable that people tend to spend a lot of their time just lounging around in their resorts and rooms. But it is best to step out of the small hotel Barbados and experience some of these essentials in Bridgetown:

Barbados Museum. Located downtown near the race course, the museum is open from Monday to Saturday from 9AM to 5 PM. On Sundays it is open from 2PM to 6PM. It shows visitors the interesting history of the island from the times of the first inhabitants, European slavery, and up to the 1960 British culture formation. There is a children's center which provides more appealing and hands-on activities.

Careenage. In the past, the entire area used to be a port of call for ships leaving the island. Today, it is a beautiful place where a large variety of attractions are located such as art galleries, boutiques, bars, and restaurants that are housed in old ship supply storage buildings and warehouses. At the southern end of the Constitution Bridge, tourists will be pleased to find different vendors who sell pretty souvenir items.

Calabaza Sailing Cruises. This is the most exclusive and personalized sailing cruises in Bridgetown. Located on Windward Islands, the cruise limits itself to only twelve guests, all of whom get to enjoy very special pampering. It sets out onto different places where guests can snorkel, explore reefs and wrecks and even swim with turtles.

The Boatyard. It is the ideal hang out place where tourists can sunbathe and simply relax. Food stalls and entertainment are available for convenience and enjoyment. For a $15 entrance fee, people get to have a comfortable lounge chair and a complimentary refreshing drink. It is beautiful and clean club where everyone can enjoy good company on a gorgeous beach setting.
