There are many places in Florida that just shouldn't be missed. Everyone knows about the plentiful beaches, resort attractions, and nightlife, but there are many other places that just have to be seen and experienced. One of them is the Florida Everglades National Park. Not only is it home to a wide variety of plant and animal life, but it has one of the largest Mangrove ecosystems on Earth. Visitors are limited to the areas they can explore, but there are still many adventures to be found.
Another site that shouldn't be missed is the historical city of St. Augustine. It features many historical and cultural sites, including Fort Mose Historic State Park, Zorayda Castle, or take a sight seeing train. There are even excavations of old Spanish colonies, a real alligator farm and other oddities.

One of the big problems with trying to fit all of these sights and attractions is your budget. So much of it gets spent on accommodations and food, that you have to limit yourself somewhere. Why not enjoy more and spend less? Try to think out of the box when it comes to your family vacation. Sometimes it may not be practical to take everyone camping, but you can still save a lot of time and money.

There are a few other options than the standard hotel stay. One of them is renting a vacation apartment. There are many to choose from throughout Florida, and many are located in popular tourist areas. You have some advantages with this kind of accommodation, privacy, kitchen facilities, and in many cases, your own parking area for the rental car. You also pay at a different rate than a hotel, so what would cost you $100 per person at a hotel, you may only spend $80 instead.

Another thing to consider is the all inclusive resort. These can be a great relief for families, since for the most part everything is included. Your meals are free, and the activities. There are staff that supervise any kids activities, letting parents enjoy spa treatments, or a round of golf without worrying about their children. If you are considering an all inclusive resort, make sure you know all that is covered in the price, things like taxes and gratuities may be extra.

Use the internet to help you out. You can plan your whole itinerary from the comfort of your own home, and attractions that you aren't to sure about you can look up online. Saving money also means being able to do more, and in many cases if you book reservations ahead of time, you can get a discounted price. Any tours, and entry fees should be booked early as well, if you wait until the last minute they may be full.

Make sure you check for any hidden fees, like taxes or charges for transportation from the airport to your lodging. If you are planning to rent a car, it is a good idea to choose a rental service that isn't part of the airport, they will usually charge an extra fee from this location.
