There are many airlines that operate direct flights to Florida from London, Manchester or Glasgow or you could fly from your city to London to take the flight on to Florida. From London you should feel the gorgeous Florida sunshine in eight hours time. There are two main airline operators flying to and from Florida, you can go with British Airways which fly into Miami and Orlando and US carrier, American Airlines flies to less popular destinations. Florida is well catered for with plenty of operators offering flights to Florida.

Best time to go

Florida is a popular destination for families meaning if you are going with friends or as a couple the quietest and cheaper times to go would be outside the school holidays, so Christmas, half terms in February and October, Easter holidays and July and August. With so many flights to Florida it is popular to find cheap flights regularly but in particular in the low season which is June, September and November.

What to do in Florida

Florida is such a popular destination because it caters for most types of travellers. If you have kids with you then you most likely chose Florida for the theme parks around Orlando, which are good fun for all the family not just the kids. If you are a nature fan there is the beautiful Everglades National Park where it is possible to take a ride in an airboat and head into the swamps where alligators await and other jungle wildlife.

If you want to have a beach holiday then the Florida Keys or the Gulf Coast are the places to go for you. Here you can enjoy the beautiful beaches, water sports, diving expeditions and fishing. If you have quite a few bucks in your pocket head down to Palm Beach to enjoy designer shopping with the range of boutiques and flashy restaurants. You may even spot a celebrity or two while you look for a new designer handbag.

If you are a party animal then Miami is the place to go with its stunning beaches, chic hotels, hip bars and flash nightclubs to keep you entertained. Do consider a rental car to ensure you see the best of Miami. Public transport isn't that great, the best way to get around town is certainly by car.
