The Variety Of Music In Our Life

Have you ever noticed the way that certain forms of music can alter your mood? It is strange that we might be in a melancholy mood and hear an upbeat song that reminds us of some other happier time and suddenly we feel all better. Music has been used to inspire good moods in people for centuries. It is used in many ways and in many different places to promote feelings of one kind or another.

During the days of old when Kings and Queens of Europe had balls and galas on the grandest scales, they would always have musicians to play. They did not have that many options for entertainment like we do today. There were no televisions or computers for you to wile away the hours with. The court jester would make everyone laugh and the musicians would play so everyone could dance.

Music is still a huge part of our lives today. There are musical artists by the thousands who create such a variety of styles it is almost impossible to choose one that we like the best. We can love the classics from the greatest old time composers to the most radical new wave and techno. Choosing one form as our only option would be like asking a woman to choose one pair of shoes for all occasions or sending a man to the golf range with only one kind of club.

Many times we will center a party or gathering of some sort all around the style of music that we want to have played. If you are going to be playing country and western, it only makes sense that everyone will probably wear blue jeans and t-shirts or the like There will likely be cowboy hats galore.

When the classics are played by a terrific orchestra you will probably see everyone dressed up in ball gowns and tuxedos. There will most likely be champagne flowing from a crystal swan somewhere. The style of music being played at a function will often be dictated by the type of event it is.

When you are going to a rock concert, you can bet the mood will be extremely festive. You can be sure you will see mobs of screaming teenagers, {and possibly some old timers who just can not let go of their rock and roll roots], ready to party down and it will be all because of the particular artist that they are going to hear.

Music plays an intricate part in many of our lives and even with all the other forms of entertainment that are available to us today, music is and will probably remain at the top of any list of our favorite things to enjoy.
