Online Business Brain Dump - Sell Content

Okay, I realize this might sound a little strange. After all, the point of having a business is to make money, right? Absolutely!

Your goal is to make sales, right? As I mentioned in a prior lesson, the best way to make a sale is to gain your customer's trust, reassuring them that a purchase from your business will be a decision they won't regret.

The most effective way to do this is to pre-sell. You want visitors to your website to click on the "Buy It Now" button, but you really only want them to make a purchase AFTER they've become comfortable with your business and they've developed respect and trust for you as a business professional.

One option is to put articles or some valuable content on your site to interest readers in your niche' market.

Here are some other ideas for pre-selling:

- Offer free downloadable articles for your visitors to read

- Provide a newsletter for people to sign up for, allowing you to stay in touch

- Make a web poll to involve visitors in your site - the questions must relate to your site's theme

- Have a feedback form for visitors to offer suggestions

- Make a testimonials page to show previous buyers' positive responses to your business

- Give "Buying Tips" or "Helpful Hints" to provide something valuable for free

- Set up a weekly promotion that will encourage visitors to return to your site regularly

These are just a few suggestions of things that you could incorporate into your business. Once your visitors RETURN to your website on a regular basis, you dramatically increase your opportunities to make a sale.

In fact, this mini-course that you are reading is another way to "sell content." I am building trust and credibility with the hope that it will produce sales of some sort down the road.

It would be helpful for you to learn to use Aweber for sending out scheduled emails with your valuable content. That is what I am using for sending out this mini-course.
