A lot of merchants are bringing up the rear would-be sales because they simply will not accept any credit cards mainly because of the fear of charge backs. If certain steps are taken the possibility of charge backs are eliminated. A lot of this can be learned by reading the terms and conditions of any merchant agreement as well as the terms and conditions for the individual cards.

Many new merchants will simply sign an agreement giving them the capability to accept credit cards without ever reading the stipulations and conditions. I know this because I was one of them. I had to learn this information the hard way. I know of several companies, sell both physical and intangible goods, who have never had a charge back because they simply follow certain steps.

In short;
1) Get a tracking number when shipping
2) Get the customer to sign an authorization form
3) get the customer to say "I authorize so and so amount to be charged to my card for the following product" make sure that this is recorded.

Before going into the explanation of these 3 steps let me first give the examples of a couple of scenarios;

Let's say someone has a Yahoo or Ebay depot. Numerous studies have been down that have shown that if you don't have some way of accepting credit cards that you are giving up over 90% of potential sales.

Some consumers say they are scared to use their credit cards online because of all the threats of theft. Most merchant services require the card holder to not only enter their card number but also the expiration date and on the back to the right of your account number there is another number which is 3 or 4 digits depending on the type of card. With all this info the oonly way your card could be used without your permission is if the actual card had been stolen.

Eventually, along with your numbers will most likely be the requirement of either your fingerprint or a retina scan. This technology is right around the corner. In the meantime when using your card make sure that the site you are using your card with uses what's called SSL encryption.

Back to our 3 steps, with item number 1, even if you are selling a product that is not a physical item, put some documentatiuon like maybe a welcome kit on CD and ship this product to your customer. Make sure that you use a service that uses tracking numbers and will show whoi signed for the product.. If you are selling something like an ebook then put a copy on CD and ship it to your new customer as a backup copy.

With a service like Paypal, if you can show a tracking number when you ship the product and Paypal can see that someone signed for the product when it was delivered then you will never get a charge back from a service like Paypal. Now if you combine this step with either step 2 or 3 then you have a better chance and winning the Lotto then you do of getting a charge back.

When you a buy a product from a merchant like Walgreen's or your neighborhood grocery store the reason that you are not able to dispute the item is because at checkout you actually sign a credit card authorization form. A friend of mine, who takes his orders via the telephone always faxes the customer an authorization for and has them sign it and return it before any product is shipped. Companies who are charging for a service would be protected if they followed this procedure.

I have talked with the actual credit card companies like Discover, Visa, MasterCard and American Express about this. I once bought a software product that was supposed to do certain things. I tried to dispute the charge but because I had signed an authorization form and because the company had shipped me a backup copy on CD I was not able to dispute this charge. Discover told me that all they cared about was that I received the product. I lost $500 for this software because the damn thing didn't work.

The final kicker would be if you had recorded this transaction. Before doing this you need to let the other party know that they are being recorded but if I were to charge for a $5000 cruise and the travel company let me know that the transaction would be tape recorded then even if I never went on this cruise the only way I could get reimbursed is if the travel agency decided to issue me either a refund or a credit

--
Jeffrey A.
Bruce Blackburn always wanted to write a book.

A journalist by trade in the rich arts community of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Blackburn chronicled the adventures of the artists, authors, playwrights, painters, sculptors, songwriters and cultural icons who emerged from the eclectic enclave in southern Pennsylvania. Author James Michener called Bucks County "the Genius Belt," in honor of the remarkable phalanx of creative talent the region has housed over the decades.

But after a long battle with chronic health problems, he passed away in December of 2005 without getting the chance to write his book. Only, not really.

As a tribute to his life and writing, his wife, Marie Izzo, assembled some of his favorite columns about the people and art of Bucks County and combined it with remembrances of Blackburn from dozens of the people he had interviewed over the years. The end result was A Bucks County State of Mind …in his words, from Inside Review (www.abuckscountystateofmind.com), a book that posthumously carries his byline.

"Bruce was a romantic soul who lived life on a more emotionally enriching plane and his link between the written word and love was undeniable," Izzo said. "An interview with Bruce Blackburn was like talking to your best friend. This insightful, brilliant man got you to reveal your soul and then when you read what he wrote, you realized he captured your essence in a comfortable way that connected you to him forever."

Blackburn's interview subjects were a collection of some of the most iconoclastic artists and creators in American culture, including Robert A. Beck, Irving Berlin, Dick Perez, Phillip Lloyd Powell, Michael Graves, Gordon Haas, Al Hirschfeld, Lilly Salvatore, Bob Krist, Foster Winans and many others. Nearly 40 of them contributed to the lush tome aimed at encapsulating not only Blackburn's professional life, but also his passion for this creative cooperative and its inhabitants.

In the book, master architect and Princeton professor Michael Graves remembered Blackburn's talent for capturing the moment.

"The day that Bruce Blackburn visited me for an interview, we were in the midst of an open house in our design studios in Princeton and he quite naturally joined in the camaraderie of the moment. Reading his essay again, I have to say that he gracefully captured the positive spirit of the place and my feelings about it, which I, as an architect, truly value as the sign of a good listener and a good writer."

The book also uses Blackburn's own words to reflect on his personal life, as he recalled how Izzo's inspiration gave him the strength to overcome his health issues.

"She regularly called from Florida and sent me books and tapes on positive thinking, love and healing, but they seemed to have little effect," he said. "I was slipping away. My status plummeted to terminal. I was in the hospital near death when she summoned all her courage and decided to visit me on my thirty-eighth birthday, May 23rd, 1991. The visit proved to be a turning point in both our lives. From then on a love stronger than we believed could happen—richer and more miraculous than we'd ever imagined possible suffused our lives and permeated our days. Marie soon returned to Florida, and our newly discovered love filled my heart with hope. The energy it created spurred an attitude shift that empowered me to fight for my health and our life together."

He enjoyed reasonably good health for another 14 years, eventually passing in December 2005, leaving a fissure in the Bucks County arts community, but also leaving behind a charming and poignant memoir that, at the time, he didn't even realize he was writing.

--
Marie Izzo, who was married to journalist Bruce Blackburn, is a consultant in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

During a time of recession, business owners are doing all their efforts to make every dollar count. They keep on looking ways to trim their operation costs while still being productive. One of the ways through which business owners maximize their scarce dollars at this period of economic slowdown is by outsourcing some of their business processes. Instead of hiring full-time employees, many business owners outsource their SEO needs to freelance copywriters.

What are the benefits of hiring freelance copywriters?

One of the major benefits of hiring freelance copywriters is that business owners can cut down on their overhead costs. If business owners outsource a project or a phase of a project, they don't have to spend as much as they would if they were to hire full-time employees. Because they would be dealing with freelance copywriters, they don't have to pay wages and benefits. All they have to think of is the payment to be made for the services of the freelance copywriters, who are oftentimes paid well if they turn in quality work on time.

The advantages of employing freelancers do not just revolve on the financial aspect of business management. Hiring freelance copywriters also gives business owners enough time to concentrate on running their business and making it grow. Aside from these, they are also assured that the content of the materials are of good quality, since many freelance copywriters are experts in the field of SEO writing.

What do business owners look for when hiring freelance copywriters?

Hiring a copywriter is an investment. In order to have an excellent return, business owners have to make sure that they are only getting highly skilled freelance writers. Below are some tips on how business owners choose freelancers to whom they can outsource their SEO writing needs.

* Business owners choose freelancers who are flexible and can adapt to differing writing tasks.

Two traits that freelance copywriters should have are flexibility and adaptability. While some business owners usually specialize in a particular aspect of SEO writing, not having the flexibility to undertake different client projects and not being able to adapt to changing client demands limits the job market of freelance writers. As such, freelance writers should be open to accepting varied projects from their writers. When business owners feel that that their freelancers can be relied on to take different sets of projects, they are more than willing to repeat their business with them.

* Business owners choose freelancers with a proven track record of delivering accurate and timely outputs.

One of the things that business owners save on when they hire freelance writers is training costs. Because training should be provided continuously and is conducted by experts, training sessions can be really expensive on the part of business owners if they were to employ writers full time. Thus, it is important that freelance writers have a portolio detailing the kind of work that they've done. If possible, freelance writers should also include testimonials from their previous or existing clients who can vouch for their work.

* Business owners prefer freelancers who are always available and who keep regular working hours.

Oftentimes, written materials need to be polished and revised to meet the expectations of the business owners. After all, they just want to get value for their money. Knowing this, it is imperative that freelance writers be able to perform tasks such as further editing and revising of their outputs to fulfill their end of the bargain.

In the end, freelance writers should know that many business owners recognize that copywriting is a skill that takes years of experience to perfect. And while they may be cutting costs by outsourcing, many business owners are still willing to pay a premium for high-quality outputs.

--
Niyomi Gold Tannfield has been in the business process outsourcing industry for several years now. She has also advised many business owners who require SEO materials on the benefits of getting freelance copywriters. Niyomi was also a freelance copywriter herself, saying that going freelance can be profitable if one has the right attitude and skills.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

There are numerous web designers and advertising agencies in Raleigh. They serve the North Carolina business community as well as companies in the United States and even globally. This can be done because clients can be located anywhere in the world.
There has been a dramatic change in the goal of web sites as the Internet has matured. Initially, advertising agencies and web site designers focused on the web site's colors, overall appearance, audio, visual and positioning issues. There is no question they built up and designed beautiful, stunning and functional web sites. These not only provided information, but also offered sales, services, feedback, contact information, comment ability and more.
The maturation process, however, has taught designers that they need to do more for clients. They need to drive Internet traffic, which is the number of people looking at a site, to the web site itself. More importantly is to drive targeted traffic to the site in the form of people looking for the information, goods or services provided. The more targeted traffic produced, the more people will ultimately be converted into revenue in the form of donations, sales or services. This process is generally referred to by those in the industry as Search Engine Optimization. It is abbreviated SEO.
Raleigh SEO companies will work for their clients not to change the overall look and functionality of the web site, but to dramatically increase the amount of targeted traffic driven to it from major search engines.
Most people start with a major search engine and enter particular search terms to find the goods and services they desire. Likewise, they enter search terms relating to these goods and services. These are called keywords.
If you are a business that provides information, a good or service related to the search, you want to assure as best as possible that your company is at the top of or near the top of that resulting search list. The reason is that consumers or business-to-business customers generally click on the first or top few results.
A good Raleigh SEO company will modify a business's web site to maximize their SEO. It will add various keywords into the site and test them on major search engines to make sure that the business is the top or one of the top names in the results. This will save on overall advertising costs that used to be expended in getting the web site name out to the public or business-to-business purchaser.
While it does not replace traditional advertising, it will increase the number of targeted customer's or lookers visiting a site that are already pre-disposed to view the product, service or information provided and available.

--
<a href=http://www.atlanticbt.com"> Raleigh Web Design

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Why Write A Non-Fiction Book ?

When people approach me about writing a non-fiction book, my advice often disappoints them because of their expectations about the publishing world. There seems to be a pervading myth that simply publishing a book, on its own merits, is enough to bring fame and fortune to any author. This may come as a surprise, but if your purpose in wanting to write a book is to make money, then read on as I shed some light on the real truths behind book publishing.

The truth is that very few non-fiction authors make much money from their book alone. Publishing a book and getting nationwide distribution is an exorbitantly, and in most cases prohibitively, expensive process. It's time and energy intensive, and will take massive amounts of resources. In fact, non-fiction authors will spend anywhere from $400-800,000 before they even break even with book sales (anywhere from 200-350,000 copies sold). So if it's that difficult and expensive, what's the point of publishing a book anyway?

There are two main reasons to write and publish a non-fiction book, and to make money certainly isn't one of them. The two reasons are to market your business and to gain credibility.

Reason #1: Marketing

Unless you have a baseline business platform, other than your book idea, to drive traffic to, there's very little point in publishing a non-fiction book. You won't make any money and it won't be worth the effort. The successful non-fiction authors are those who understand that their book is nothing more than a marketing tool to drive traffic to their business, and who exploit this knowledge effectively.

For example, Stephen Covey's books drive traffic to Franklin Covey, T. Harv Eker has Peak Potentials Training, Mark Victor Hansen and Robert Allen's book The One Minute Millionaire markets the Enlightened Wealth Institute, Killing Sacred Cows by Garrett Gunderson and myself leads to the Freedom FastTrack process, marketing guru Seth Godin built Squidoo, Ken Blanchard's company is a global leader in workplace learning and productivity, just to name a few.

The real money to be made from publishing a book doesn't come from the book itself; it comes from the business that the book is designed to market. So what does this mean for you? You should spend far more time and effort developing a legitimate business, rather than writing a book.

Besides, you don't even need to write the dang thing yourself-that's what guys like me are for. You build your business, and let me get your book written. Your time is much better spent focusing on your business, products, and services. This approach will ultimately result in far more dollars to you than trying to make money from book sales alone.

Reason #2: Credibility

In the Information Age, your audience is drowning in information. They're constantly bombarded with television, radio, books, advertising, Internet, blogs, music, etc. So why should they listen to you, especially when there may be countless competing factors sending them conflicting messages? When faced with information overload, people listen to and buy from those they deem to be credible.

Think about it: why are quotes so powerful? It's not because of what is said in a quote that makes it relevant and important to you-it's because of the credibility of the person saying it. When you hear the words, "Be the change you want to see in the world," the quote sticks with and impacts you not because of the actual words, but because you know they came from Gandhi, a man who earned ultimate credibility on the subject of changing the world. Your neighbor could say the same thing, but unless he has credibility on that subject, the words will impact you far less and you will quickly forget them.

The phrase "Imagination is more important than knowledge" could be seen as nothing but a trite adage, but coming from the mind and mouth of Albert Einstein, it carries substantial weight and meaning.

Credibility is a precious commodity in the business world, and it's one that, once gained, will dramatically increase your bottom line. There's something about being a published author that gives a person instant credibility. Imagine being at a party and meeting three new people. Suppose the first two people you meet are incredible businessmen (or women), and the third is actually far less accomplished than the first two. But if you learn that the third is a published author, suddenly you pay more attention and give more weight to their words. And the chances are high that the published author, despite any of their other accomplishments, is the one that you will remember months later.

Conclusion

If you are thinking about writing a non-fiction book, my advice is that you must first understand that publishing a book is not a good way to make money in and of itself. You absolutely must develop a world-class business that the book is deliberately designed to market, and it's through increasing traffic to this business that you will make your real money. And by gaining credibility, which comes from being a published author, the chances of getting people to consistently buy from your business are considerably greater.

In other words, what you need isn't a good idea for a book, but rather, a good business to market. Build a business and use a professional ghostwriter to write your non-fiction book.

--
Did you find this article useful?
Dissertation writing is not an easy task and it is extremely challenging for almost all students. Dissertation writing is the most important part of your degree. It requires dedication, perseverance, ability to do in-depth research and determination. writing dissertation is challenging but not impossible and you should try to facilitate your dissertation writing process by following the guide to writing dissertations:

1. The most important thing you need to do, when it comes to dissertation writing, is not to procrastinate at all. Set up a plan that how you are going to be writing your dissertation and make sure you stick to it.

2. Idea development is something that can procrastinate your dissertation writing process dramatically. This is the part where students struggle a lot. What you need to do now is to write down the topics that you find interesting. When you are in class or listening to a lecture or reading an article, etc, just write down what you find interesting. Then you can discuss your ideas with your advisor and fellow students to decide the theme for your dissertation. However, you must prepare yourself to struggle; it's not an easy task at all.

3. Don't choose a topic that doesn't fascinate you. If you choose a topic that doesn't fascinate you and you find it difficult then you will never be able to finish writing your dissertation on time. You will also end up procrastinating. Writing about something that you find interesting will keep you motivated and focused. Therefore, choose a topic that you find interesting.

4. If you need to find out about any particular experience or problem faced by general public and its impact on their lives, then do not limit yourself to your friends and family. Talk to people you don't even know and ask them if they faced this problem and what their experiences were.

5. Ask your friends and fellow students about what you can add to your dissertation.
Mont Blanc was founded by a Hamburg stationer in 1906. Originally called the Simplo Filler Pen company, they altered the name to Mont Blanc in 1911. They have been manufacturing quality writing instruments ever since.

Since the start Mont Blanc has been making many of the world's most fantastic pens. Without doubt, the most favored in the Mont Blanc range of writing instruments are those in the Meisterstuck line. Meisterstuck is actually German for masterpiece and no one could argue that this title doesn't suit these famous pens. Each pen manufactured by the company over the years is a masterpiece, without any doubt.

Mont Blanc have obviously gone on to create new pens in their range, but so far none of them has come close to the iconic status of the Meisterstuck. I would say the most distinctive feature of the Meisterstuck pen is the central inscribed ring, found within two plain, thinner equidistant rings and normally made of gold. Wonderful attention to detail in the production process makes Mont Blanc the most luxurious of fountain pens and legendary in the world of writing instruments.

This brings us to the new generation of writing instruments manufactured by Mont Blanc, led by the StarWalker range. Having a modern name and styling to match, the Mont Blanc StarWalker still keeps to the tradition of producing pens of wonderful and flawless design with true master craftsmanship. The StarWalker pen collection, as with other collections, contains a fountain pen, ballpoint pen, mechanical pencil and a rollerball pen. These new pens by Mont Blanc are cleverly designed, stylish, practical and very easy to write with. Place it in your hand and you will never forget how it feels to write with, how it flows over the paper. The StarWalker is perfectly made and is a real treat to use. As with all Mont Blanc writing instruments, the desire for writing is insatiable.

--
Pete Ash has been collecting pens and writing articles for many years. His new website www.Pen-4u.com contains a huge amount of information on many popular pen brands, which includes Mont Blanc Pens, Parker, Cross, Sheaffer and Waterman. He can also find you the latest deals to buy pens, either antique and collectable pens, or those currently available.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

It's nearing the end of summer, and I have no credentials to my benefit these holidays. As the end of the holidays approach, I keep wondering what I have to show for the summer other than the noticeable tan, and the load of incomplete articles adorning my computer.
Having nothing to write about can be exasperating. But having plentiful to do, and not doing it out of sheer laziness or lack of interest is a whole other story. I have articles months old that haven't seen the light of day. Ah, if only I could complete them. But procrastination and laziness stand in the way. I've been telling myself that it's the heat, but with the temperatures going down again, I'm not even left with that excuse.
I have seemingly divorced myself from the half-written articles that sit there waiting on some remote folder in my computer. Somehow, I never get to completing something if I leave it midway. And this time is no different. I ended up opening the files, reading their contents, closing them with a mental note that they needed to be finished and went back to my Need for Speed racing adventure.
After an endless round of mindless car racing, I decided it was time to get back to work. Having nothing to write about, I thought I'd try my hand at a journal. Writers are always saying that keeping journals spark up your creativity, but somehow I never thought I'd be writing in one. I'd always wondered why a writer would waste her precious time writing in a journal, when she could be earning money, writing those words in an article or story.
So, I began Mission Journal by simply opening up my word processor and writing the first thing that came into my mind. Incidentally, I started rambling about how much I had wanted to achieve but with a drastic case of writer's block having swept over me the last few days, my ambitions had been reduced to dust. Before I knew it, I had written two thousand words, simply on why I couldn't write and how it was playing havoc with my spirit.
I hate to admit it, but the truth is - I was wrong. A journal is not a waste of a writer's time. It's a learning process. When a computer professional sits down to learn a new programming language, he's not wasting his time. He's preparing himself for situations in which his programming skills could come in handy. Similarly, a journal can be the resource a writer digs into when she's at a loss of ideas and can't find anything to write about. It gives the writer practice she needs every single day, and enables her to create a much desired momentum in her writing.
The day I started writing in my journal, was the day my month-long block finally came to an end. And as I wrote, I found my mind racing faster than my fingers could type. Soon, I was writing not only about my day, but also my holidays, my last semester and the last time the family went on a holiday together. Incidents kept springing to my mind and I was caught in the adrenalin rush. I was writing!
I had needed a spark for my creativity, and the journal had done just that. It had made given me the push that I needed to start, and once I was writing, the ideas and the words came to me like they had never left my side.
Journals give the writer the three things she needs most: Practice, Motivation and Ideas.
Now, everyday before I begin writing my articles or stories, I simply pen down a page in my journal. If I don't feel like writing on paper, I've maintained a journal on my computer too. Not only do I get a jumpstart on my day, I also feel more energized and ready to write pages and pages of prose.
Journals can also be a great storehouse of ideas. When you think that you've suddenly become unresponsive to the ideas around you or can't find a character to fit into your stories, peek into your journal, and you'll find something priceless there. The trip to the lake last summer or the fight with your neighbor might just become incidents in your next best seller.
Journals are not necessarily diaries in which you record your personal thoughts and feelings. They can be lists of goals, pet care tips, or simply free writing that you do everyday before you get to work. They needn't even be focused on one topic - you can introduce random thoughts whenever and wherever you like. In writing a journal, there are no rules; you simply write what you want.
As of writing this, I maintain four journals to suit my different moods. I don't write in all of them everyday, but do try to write in at least one each day. On days that I don't have too much work to do, I spark my creativity by writing in all four. Who knew, that a journal would become my best friend?

--
For more useful tips & hints, please browse for more information at our website :- http://www.adsence-dollar-factory.com
http://www.100earningtips.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com
