So, you want to give a sermon. Well, before you take that leap of faith, you might want to read this article first. If you've seen ministers give sermons, you know it looks easy. Well, looks can be deceiving. Part of the reason it looks so easy is because they work very hard on preparation beforehand. This article is going to touch on a few things you need to know before giving your first sermon so that it isn't your last.

First of all, keep in mind that your congregation wants to like your sermon. It's bad enough that a lot of them are at church because they feel that they have to be there. Don't make them suffer through the process. Nothing makes them feel more miserable than thinking that they're going to be listening to some bore of a lecture Point is, they want to be on your side. They want to like what's coming. So you've already got a head start on pleasing them, kind
of like a comic at a comedy club.

Secondly, you need to be prepared. You CANNOT just wing this. So many people have tried to go up to that pulpit and just let it flow out. It's very hard to do. What usually ends up happening is that you end up wandering all over the place with no real destination in mind not flowing anywhere in particular. These sermons usually end up going on for 30 minutes or longer. Of course, any sermon over 10 minutes is in serious danger of losing the congregation. So whatever you do, don't wing it. Be prepared!

Finally, something that is hardly thought about, come with a strong speaking voice and plenty of water. Nerves are going to get to you. They get to everybody. Dry mouth is going to creep in like mold on the old sandwhich in the back of the refridgerator. So having plenty of water to drink is going to be a must. You're not going to get through a whole sermon without it. As for your voice, do some vocal exercises to loosen it up before you start speaking.

Like I said, giving a sermon LOOKS easy. That's because a lot of work goes into giving one before the first words are even spoken, such as a specific bible verse to lecture off of, a well written outline, and some personality thrown into the mix to keep everybody awake. All of that makes a good sermon. Good luck and enjoy the whole process.

For more usefull information on sermons check out my sermon site at http://My-Good-Sermon-site.blogspot.com.

--
Jeremy Pokorski is an author and Poet.
Pakistan appeared in the map of world as one of the greatest nations on 14th August 1947. Muhammad Ali Jinnah is the founder of Pakistan. He is given title by the nation Quaid-e-Azam because he worked much hard for the Muslims. He didn't cared about his health. He did this all for Muslims to live in peace. He died on 1948.

Few years after Quaid-e-Azam Passed away, Pakistan was going with a good Progress. But because of guiltiness of money Pakistan went on a way that was full of slopes towards down. Money is a destruction when it is not being used as it must be or if it is in wrong hands.

Pakistan is not like now then it was before. Pakistan is not doing good then it was doing before. Pakistan is slipping down because of some sinful rulers and it is the result of guiltiness of money.

As we know that Pakistan is going through much critical situations. Because of many sinful and iniquitous leaders those have occurred in the history of Pakistan. Because of them there is no justice, much corruption, nobody to hear public, the government is doing all the things for itself not for public and the sinful things happening in Pakistan (e.g. attacking of Terrorists etc.) Etc.

But we are Pakistani and we cannot let this all happen. We will stop this all and make Pakistan the country that it was before in it's good times. We cannot let the struggle of Quaid-e-Azam waste. Quaid-e-Azam dreams were to separate Muslims in a peaceful country named Pakistan and make it one of the greatest nations in the World. He fulfilled his one dreams for us. But before fulfilling his second dream he passed away. He did this all for Muslims. And now it is our duty to fulfill his second dream. Pakistan is our beloved country and we cannot let anyone make trouble in it.

It's time for us to come out and take stand for these sinful things happening in Pakistan. We will do our best to fulfill Quaid-e-Azam second dream. I pray to Allah that Please help us in this mission. AMEEN
ALLAH-O-AKBAR
PAKISTAN ZINDABAAD

·	Inshallah! Allah will help us in this mission.
·	Inshallah! With the help of Allah we will protect our beloved country "Pakistan" from sinfull People.
·	Inshallah! With the help of Allah we will accomplish the second dream of Quaid-e-Azam and make Pakistan one of the biggest nations in the world.

--
Pakistan
Islam

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Mistakes to be avoided while delivering a Motivational speech

Your motivational speech cannot be excellent if you make any mistakes while delivering your speech. The following mistakes must be avoided while delivering a motivational speech.
Nervousness and fear of delivering speech are the most important mistake that has to be controlled essentially. You must reduce your fear level. Otherwise you may be forced into a situation to forget what you want to say. Build confidence in your speaking abilities. Practice your speech to build confidence. Do some confidence boosting exercises and relax yourself before delivering your speech. When you feel nervous in front of the audience, you may take a deep breath and speak from your heart to give some of your truthful experiences for a few minutes so that you can reduce your fear level first.
The next mistake is inflexible speech. Your speech must be flexible enough. But do not bore your audience with your continuous speech related to topic. So you can add your own thoughts, feelings, and words to your speech. But be sure that you do not deviate much from the speech topic. The flexibility in your speech can be achieved only through enough practice.
Speaking unclearly and leaving long pause in between your speech must also be avoided. It is very important to make your speech legibly and clearly. So, stress and repeat your main messages many times so that your audience gets the idea of what you are talking about. Do not give a long pause in between your speech. Avoid uttering filler words like um, eh, uh, etc. Be yourself and speak in your own language and style while delivering your speech. Only then your audience will appreciate it. On the other hand, if you use complicated words or speak in a different tone or use complicated words, your audience may not be interested. You will feel more comfortable to deliver your speech only if you know your topic well.
Most people can understand more information about your speech only through a visual presentation rather than just speech presentation. Hence, it is very important to prepare visual presentations related with your speech topic. Presentation mistakes must be avoided if you want your speech to be effective. Avoid giving handouts to your audience beforehand since a handout may further distract your audience from listening to your speech. Avoid wasting your time and your audience's time by giving long and unmemorable presentations. Your motivational speech content should aim at exactly what you want to achieve by your speech and what you want the audience to do for that. Refine your speech content to the most significant points and use those points as reminders during your presentation. Avoid just standing and reading your slides. But instead give explanation to emphasize, highlight or elucidate each slide. Your presentation must focus on how you can meet the needs of your audience. To be precise, your presentation must be written for your audience and not about you. Avoid unclear and unpleasant fonts and colors for your presentation. Use pleasant colors. Use catchy colors to highlight new section or key points. Relevant stories, anecdotes, and humor can make even the most complicated presentation interesting and informative. Facts, figures, and statistics can also add life to your presentation.
Present or dress yourself smart before the audience such that you express professionalism and success. Business apparel might be the best one for delivering motivational speech.

--
Being an expertise in writing articles,Sarah Jose has contributed articles related to
motivational speakers,motivational speaker consultant .
Walk into any bookstore and you may experience sticker shock. Book prices have risen dramatically with new books costing $20, $25, even $30 or more. You can, however, fight the high cost of books. Here's how.

Attend Friends of the Library Booksales

Friends of the Library booksales are a great source for inexpensive books. Here you can find gently used books for 50 cents to $1! Friends of the Library groups are volunteer organizations that work to improve their associated libraries. These volunteer organizations accept used books from the local community. Once or twice a year these donated books are then sold to the public at booksales. Profits from these sales are used to improve library facilaties, buy new library books, or to buy new equipment for the library.

Everyone wins. Gently used books are re-sold instead of sitting around in people's homes collecting dust. Because Friends of the Library collect books every year, collected books are often recent releases. This means you get to buy former $16, $20, or $25 books for $1 or less. Best of all your local library raises money. You can find the dates and times of the Friends of the Library booksales nearest you by visiting booksalefinder.com.

Rent or Borrow Your Books

Why buy a book, read it, then set it aside to collect dust? Smart readers are increasingly borrowing or renting books, saving huge amounts of money in the process. Surprisingly, your local public library may be the best source for great best-selling books. An increasing number of public libraries are now stocking best-selling books as well as popular DVDs for your borrowing pleasure.

In addition to borrowing books from your library, consider renting your books the same you rent DVDs. A company called Booksfree (www.bookrentalservice.com) has become the Netflix of the reading world. For a low monthly fee, you can rent an unlimited number of paperback books. Depending on the plan you chose, you may have 2, 3 or 4 books rented out at any single time. When you are finished reading a book you return it in a prepaid mailer and wait for your new selection to arrive.

Form A Book Circle

Most people enjoy a great book and then place it away never to be seen again. We suggest forming a book circle with a group of 2-3 friends. Chose 2-3 books that everyone in the group wants to read. Each member purchases one of these books and, after reading it, exchanges the book with the other members of the book circle. Rotating the 2-3 different books among members allows each member of the book circle to triple their reading dollars.

Use a Book Club

Book clubs provide great savings to savvy readers. Zooba (www.995bookclub.com) is a particularly impressive book club, offering the lowest price we've seen for new books. Zooba allows you to buy bestselling books for $9.95 with free shipping included.

Here's how it works: You pay $9.95 a month. You create an online list of books you would like to purchase. At the beginning of each month, Zooba sends you the number one ranked book on your list. What we like about this book club in particular is that you can buy as many additional bestselling books as you like, all for the same $9.95 price. Visit www.995bookclub.com for additional details.

By employing a few of the techniques mentioned above you may never pay retail prices for best-selling books again. The savings can be dramatic.

--
To purchase Books for great prices, visit Buy Books Online.
To stay informed about books visit here.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Sermons have the ability to change lives. For those people that hear your message at the right time and place, it can literally change the course of their very decision making. So how do you construct a sermon? It can be quite an overwhelming job, especially if you've never written one before.

Where do you begin? What are you going to talk about? What passages of scripture do you use? How do you tie everything up in a neat little bow? Can you even do that? After all, a lot of scripture is open to interpretation. Well, if you're wracking your brain trying to write that sermon, these 3 effortless sermon research tips should help.

At the top of the list of things to do is to make sure that you have a main passage of scripture that you want to preach off of. A lot of times, this will lock you into a subject. For example, if you're preaching on Daniel in the lion's den, you're not going to stray and start talking about the transfiguration of Jesus. Having specific bible scripture in mind will make the sermon itself go a lot smoother and even, in some cases, write itself.

You will be surprised how quickly research will flow when you have a topic and start connecting chapter and verse as you research.

Another thing you want to do is start the sermon off with a related personal story. Try to make it a humorous one if you can. The reason for this is because you don't want the congregation falling asleep on you. If you dive right into the theological stuff right off the bat, you're going to lose a lot of your congregation before you even reach the second paragraph. Adding the human element will greatly help in keeping the parishioners interested.

If you want to see an example of this, watch Joel Olsteen on Christian television. He starts off each message with a joke and gets his congregation to laugh. I think this also gives him a down to earth character and his people view him as being at their level, and they in turn can relate to him and receive the message he is giving.

Finally, you want to keep your sermon brief. A clever minister used to say, if you can't get your point across in less than 10 minutes, then it wasn't worth getting across in the first place. One way to keep your sermon brief is to make a list of bullet points that you want to cover in the sermon itself.

Try to keep them to 3 or 4 points in total. If you limit each one to about 3 minutes talking time, you should have no problem keeping your sermon to around 10 minutes. Some church denominations are accustomed to longer messages, and if you are a pastor from those denominations, you already know who you are. It should be prudent to note that the attention span for an adult is between 20-25 minutes so after this point, even with longer messages, your members have reached their maximum capacity to absorb your message.

There are other things you can do to improve your sermon, but we'll cover
those in future articles. In the meantime, if you follow the tips I've outlined above, getting a main passage of scripture, starting off with a personal story, and keeping the sermon to about 10 minutes, you will find that your sermon will go over a lot better with the congregation and they won't end up falling asleep on you or leaving service early.

--
It is my hope that this article will help you put your
church sermons together with ease and make the act of writing a sermon more enjoyable.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com
