If you would like to give a fantastic speech you will find careful speech writing a great way to add content that your listeners will love to hear. But where do you get your ideas? I'm glad you asked!

Here are some suggestions.
Use quotes. A quote is gem of wisdom contained in words. Quotes can add power to your speech and help make it sound interesting. I use a dictionary of famous quotations. It is a great resource for speech writing.

Use examples. Give examples that explain and relate to your speech topic. An example makes your point clear and adds to audience understanding. Examples come from personal experience, history, or anywhere else that supports your speech.

Use testimonials. A testimonial from someone well known helps sell your idea. Hey we are all selling ideas whether it is a product, service, or our own ability to help. A clear testimonial goes a long way toward strong speech writing. If you do not have a testimonial from someone well known, use someone not so well known for your testimonial.

Use facts. Facts such as statistics, dates, figures, and names of people add credibility to your speech writing. A fact is written in stone. It is another pillar for your speech.

Use famous speeches. Famous speeches of history can be used as a resource for you to get ideas from. Most famous speeches are well written. If you study some of them this is a sure way to improve your craft of writing a speech.

Use poems. Poems can aid your writing good speech content. The first writers used proverbs and fables with words that rhymed. This made sentences easier to remember. Poems can help you in writing a speech by giving you ideas on choice of words and the way words rhyme to get ideas across.

Well this is just an introduction to speech writing but these ideas work. The stronger your writing the easier your speech will be to deliver. Sometimes great written content can more than compensate for bad speaking delivery. Especially if your speech message is original and beneficial to your audience.
